“The counsel of a man” signifies, in some passages, the counsel given by him; for the most part, however, it is the counsel which he adopts himself—his plans and resolutions. This latter is invariably the meaning of the expression, “to walk in any one’s counsel,” which uniformly means, “to adopt his plans, to share the same designs,”—comp. 2 Chron. 22:5, where “walked after their counsel,” corresponds to, “he walked in the ways of the house of Ahab,” ver. 3, and “he did evil in the sight of the Lord
